When people tell you you can’t do something, do you give their opinions power over your own? Do you allow their lack of support to pour into you? Do you let other people’s opinions hold you back from achieving what you want in your life?
It’s time to stop the madness. We have got to STOP allowing the opinions of other people dictate the direction of our lives. It’s so easy for someone to tell you you can’t do something. Many times, when we hear that from someone, we start to believe it. You know what? That’s crazy! If it’s something that is in your heart and you are passionate about it, you CAN accomplish it. Why are we giving the naysayers power? Why are we letting their negativity and their lack of faith drive the decisions we make in our lives?
When I first became a Beachbody coach, I had a lot of different people discourage me. People will just find a way to discourage you from being you at every turn it seems sometimes. I’ve even had people tell me they can’t watch my videos online because I’m too happy. Can you imagine?! It just makes me laugh really. That’s exactly what I’m going for. I want to project positivity and happiness and if others have an issue with it, it’s their issue.
I REFUSE TO LET ANYONE TELL ME I CAN’T DO SOMETHING.
If I want to achieve it and it’s in my heart… if my gut is behind it, then I can dang-well achieve it. Please, please stop giving all of the negative naysayers in your life power over your life and your decisions. Those negative people are not walking in your shoes, they are not connected to the passions that God gave you. We were all given certain gifts, talents and passions that we are meant to follow. Why on Earth are we letting other people weigh in on our lives and our choices?
We have too much good to do in the world and in our own lives to worry about other people telling us we can’t. And I don’t know about y’all, but when someone tells me I can’t do something, it just fires me up even more. It actually fuels me and makes me even more excited for that moment when I achieve my goals. I don’t need anyone’s blessing, I don’t need anyone’s opinion and I darn sure don’t need anyone’s support if all they’re bringing is negativity.
All that said, I really don’t spend time on the people who said I couldn’t. I’m always focused on asking myself these questions: What do I love? What did God put me here for? How can I be a positive light to other people? How can I inspire other people? Stay focused on the positive. Stay focused on your ‘why.’
That’s my message for you here today. I don’t ever want any of you to let the naysayers win the battle. Stand up for who you are, who God made you to be, fight for the things you are meant to do in this life. Don’t apologize, don’t do anything halfway, do it loud and proud, stand tall and firm in your beliefs. It could be anything- climbing a mountain, starting your own business, becoming a parent, achieving your health and fitness goals, whatever is in your heart.
None of these things are easy. It’s going to take work, passion and consistency to achieve your goals. But you know that. You can do it. I know you can do it and I’m cheering for you. If you have been giving the naysayers power, today is the day you slam the door.
I don’t know about you, but I want to go down swinging. I want to know that I lived my life true and with purpose. Find whatever it is that inspires and uplifts you and grab onto it with both arms. Embrace it and don’t let go. You have the power. Don’t give it away.
Y’all have a blessed day!
