Hey, Fit Friends!

This week I want to talk to you about coaching. For those of you who don’t know, I am a Team Beachbody Coach. This means that I am building a business by being an online health and fitness coach. Most of my business is built through social media, and it is a huge passion of mine. But what I want to talk to you about this week is what it actually looks like to be a Beachbody Coach, and address some of the objections I’m given daily about becoming a coach.

Let’s talk about the objections. Many times I hear people say things like:

“I don’t have time to be a coach”

“I’m not at my goal weight”

“I don’t have a beach body”

“I’m not a salesperson”

“I’m not outgoing, I’m very shy”

“I live in a small town”

“I don’t want to be part of a pyramid scheme”

“I’m not a fitness expert or nutritionist, so how could I coach anyone?”

These are the most common objections I hear all the time. And you know what? Those are all issues that we can overcome.

You don’t have to have a ton of time to work this business. Let’s say you have a full time job and you can only give an hour, at most, each day. Truth is, you CAN build a business on an hour a day. It’s your business and you’re building it when you want and how you want. As fast or as slow as you want. I bet you spend at least 1 hour each day watching TV. What if you spent that extra time actually building something that would create financial freedom for your family in the future?

You don’t have to be a salesperson to do well as a Beachbody coach. This business really is about sharing- sharing your journey and the things that are working for you. Putting it out there on social media for people to see, “Hey I’m really walking the walk and this is what’s working for me.” Just that will bring people to you with questions. There will be many who will want to know more about what you’re doing. You don’t have to be a salesperson. If you’re shy, guess what? There are tons of really successful, shy coaches. You have what it takes. You may not believe that yet, but you totally do and together we can help you tap into that fire.

If you’re someone who is a work in progress and you’re not at your goal weight yet, that’s actually even better. Why, you ask? It’s better because people will relate to you. If you have 10, 15, 20, 30 pounds to lose, whatever is it. If you share that and your progress with people along the way, they will totally relate to you. If you’re a size 0 perfect bikini body, they may not relate to you because they’re so far from that in their own mind. So, the more you share as you are improving your own life, the more people relate to you. It will make them feel comfortable and they want to be part of it.

If you live in a small town, that doesn’t matter. So much of this business takes place on social media. It doesn’t matter where you live, because you can reach people from California to New York, to Canada. You have a huge reach no matter where you live.

You don’t have to be a fitness expert or nutritionist because that’s not what we offer. We are online coaches, which means we provide accountability, support and encouragement. We provide tools like meal planning help and recipes, fitness tips and things that help to give people the extra push they need to achieve their goals.

As far as the “pyramid scheme” is concerned, this is the farthest thing from it. First of all, a pyramid scheme is illegal. Every company has people at the top- the executives. In a traditional business model, those executives at the top make salaries that are vastly larger than the average employee. With Beachbody, coaches can be very separate in terms of rank and the lower-ranking coach can actually make more money than the coach ranked higher than them. There is no cap on what you can make, and you’re not held down by the person above you. This is a network marketing business and a legitimate way to make real money.

Whatever objections you may have, there is really a way to overcome them, no matter what. We all have them. I had objections before I started! But if this is something you’re really interested in, we can find a way around those objections together.

Next week, I’ll be giving you a peek into what it’s like to be a member of the Progress Matters team as a Beachbody coach, so be sure to visit the blog for that post. And I want to hear from you! Remember, you can always reply to this email or find me Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to let me know more about who you are and the kinds of things you’d like to see from me.

Y’all have a blessed day!
